A Review of Mine Action in Mozambique

Humanitarian concerns have dominated both the consolidation and maturation phases, and over the past decade mine action in Mozambique has generally been viewed as a humanitarian endeavour. However, it is clear that demining to support reconstruction and development has been taking place. It is also clear that demining for reconstruction and development has grown to represent a significant proportion of all mine action expenditures, but the data available does not allow a precise estimate. This report covers these aspects.
